PRASAD CDHP Benefit Golf Tournament 2008
On and off the course, our tournament was a winner!
Merriam-Webster says golf is, “…a game in which a player using special clubs attempts to sink a ball
with as
few strokes as possible into each of the 9 or 18 successive holes on a course.”
But for those who joined our recent benefit tournament, golf also meant, “…to have a great time
celebrating and
supporting a good cause.”
More than 70 golfers - men, women and children - rolled onto beautiful Tarry Brae Golf Course
in South Fallsburg
to do just that. Visit the 2008 Golf Benefit photo gallery.
Two-time Tony Award winner and PRASAD CDHP spokesperson, Phylicia Rashād, presented
first-place
trophies
to the foursome of local golfers, Ira and Nate Steingart, Gilles Brodeur and
Bruce Birdsall.
Wayne
Pirnos, Jim Park,
Pete Moglia and Bill Jakatis earned second place, and third
place went to Steve Janove,
Joe Levner, Howie Levner
and Russ Alger. To the team of Chiyumi Naito,
S’Marie Young, Robert Krutman and
Sue Krutman went the prize
for “Most Honest Team.” See the photos in the gallery.
Off the course, everyone was a winner thanks to the award-winning duo of jazz/pop vocalist Ann Hampton Callaway and jazz pianist extraordinaire Kenny Werner. The pair treated everyone to an after-dinner performance that delivered a final touch of elegance to a day filled with fun and philanthropy. Bravo! See the photos in the gallery.
Supporters across the country donated lavish prizes, from gift baskets from The Sphatika Holistic Treatment Center in Manhattan, to a day of golf for two with Steven Rockefeller, a long-time supporter of PRASAD CDHP.
More than 75 guests joined the golfers for the sumptuous reception and buffet dinner that followed the competition.
As guest speakers, Rashād and Sullivan County Legislator Leni Binder reinforced the importance of PRASAD CDHP’s mission to provide quality dental care to children from low-income families in Sullivan and Ulster counties. See the photos in the gallery.
We are filled with gratitude for all of you who donated gifts, prepared food, set up the tables, created the decorations, gave your financial support, joined a golf team or donated your services.
The synergy that you generated has done more than make this fundraiser an outstanding achievement. It has infused us with abundant energy and determination as we carry the PRASAD CDHP mission into the future, and we are profoundly thankful.
